“THE GOLDEN BUTTERFLY”
“The Golden Butterfly,” starring Lili Damita, wifi be shown to-night at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland. “The Golden Butterfly” is the storv or a girl in the cash-desk of a Soho restaurant, who loves the son of the proprietor, but who has a passion for the stage, and who learns dancing in her leisure hours of the afternoon. And though there is much humour in the picture—as there always must be in any picture adapted from a Wodehouse story—there are moments of intense poignancy and drama as well. Incidentally, the picture presents Lili Damita with an opportunity to display her ability to act—to pass with rapid transition from a human chrysalis in a drab little restaurant into a gorgeous butterfly in front of the footlights. Zane Grey’s great story, “The j*ysterious Rider,” will also be shown.
