FIRM DEMAND AT LATE RATES Press Association FEILDING, Friday. The offering at the Feilding yards was smaller in numbers. A very good sale resulted, especially for fat lambs, which sold about 2s better than last week. The price for best shorn fat lambs was in the vicinity of Is a pound. Fat wethers were harder of sale, and sold at prices slightly easier than last week. Fat ewes maintained late prices. An outstanding entry in the store sheep section was a line of 1,500 medium condition early shorn four-tooth wethers, which sold at 345. Altogether about 5,000 store sheep were offered. There was a fair entry of breeding ewes. Medium quality sold at late rates. a tore lambs were in average supply, and sold well. The range of prices was: Fat lambs, 20s to 34s 6d; fat ewes, 27s to 33s 4d; fat wethers, 31s 6d to 395; four and five-year ewes, running' with Southdown rams, 32s 6d to 355; four and six-tooth ewes, running with Southdown rams, 36s to 40s; blackfaced lambs, 26s Id to 30s 2d; woolly blackfaced lambs, 27s to 395; shorn whitefaced lambs, 28s lOd to 34s 6d; fat and forward ewes, 23s 6d to 24s 6d; fourtooth wethers, 34s to 365. The entry in the cattle section mainly consisted of weaner heifers and a failnumber of steers and bullocks. Fat cattle were in shorter supply. A medium entry of dairy cattle sold well up to late rates. Four-year Hereford bullocks, £lO ss; four-year Aberdeen Angus bullocks, £ll 12s; 2i-year Polled Angus cross steers, £5; Jersey weaner heifers, £2 5s 6d to £5 9s; Jersey springing heifers, £5 15s to £9 15s; store cows, £3 6s to £4 15s; store heifers, £2 to £5; fat cows, £5 10s to £9 ss; fat bullocks, £lO 15s to £l2 10s; fat heifers, £5 to £7 12s 6d: vealers, £3 16s to £4 3s; dairy cows, £7 10s to £8; cows in milk, £3 10s to £4 15s.
