Particular interest will b« attached to the phenomenon in that the earlier stages will occur at a time suitable for observation. Penumbral eclipse will occur at p.m., when the moon will be a cor.* siderable distance above the horisor At this stage there will be only a slirM dimming - of the lunar brightness as w penumbral shadow is very slight, at 9.4 S p.m., conditions should be rn«r finteresting. It is at that time t the earth’s true shadow will male- ufirst appearance on the lunar disc. The shadow will continue to grow r size until, at 11.1 p.m., the moon entirely covered by it. This tot*, will continue until 12.13 a.m. on Jotl 4 The moon will then move out of the shadow, leaving it fin 1.32 a.m.. Penumbral eclipse will tinue until 2.45 p.m.
