O’MEARA LISTENS TO FLYERS Press Association GISBORNE, To-day. As an indication of the complete nature of the wireless reports sent from the Southern Cross, the following items among many were picked up Mr. Ivan O’Meara durinq the night. a “4.30 p.m. Perfectly clear up here. Hence there is no necessity to go higher, as yet motors have not missed a beat. Smithy must be in love. I can’t make him eat. He’s had three to my 10 sandwiches to date. Stars are just coming up now. Will send more later. “4.50 p.m. Moon is shining down on us, casting our shadow into a cloud with great white circle around. There is a faint shadow of the Southern Cross on the clouds. I will soon try and get in touch with ships again. My 600metre transmitter is on 575 metres.”
