"GIVE HIM A CHANCE!”
“Just give him one more chance, si»*—you may be a married man yourself, and you’ll know.”
With tears in her eyes, and a quavering voice, a. woman made this plea on her husband's behalf, to Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court to-day. The husband, Joseph Richard McKeon. aged 57, stood in the dock facing two charges of obscene language, three of breaking his prohibition order, and one of resisting arrest. Constable A. Moore said that accused was a maniac when he had been drinlfing. “I’ve got a good mind to put him away for a month,’’ said the magistrate. “He’s mor e to be pitied than condemned,” broke in the wife. ' Very well, I'll spare him for your sake but there’s six months waiting fo • him if he doesn’t behave.” McKeon was ordered to come up for any time within 12 months.
