PERSONAL
Mr. Morris, the newly-elected assistant secretary to the Auckland Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club, who belongs to the younger school of fanciers, is an enthusiastic breeder of Old English Game Bantams. Secretary Moore is an alert secretary, consequently Mr. Morris will be assured of a good grounding in secretarial work. Mr. Geo. H. Ambler, Glen Eden, one of the judges of the Christchurch Show, will leave for the South by Monday’s Main Trunk. We hear there are record entries, the total number being in the vicinity of 3,000. We regret to report the serious illness of Mr. Collings, the well-known fancy pigeon judge. Mr. Collings has always taken a keen interest in the fancy in Auckland, and we are sure all fanciers will join us in wishing him a speedy recovery. Mr. V. A. Ryder, Auckland, has been appointed delegate for the Onehunga Club at the annual meeting of the North Island Association.
Mr. J. Nixon, Auckland, has been appointed judge of all classes of poultry at the Taumarunui show. Mr. Geo. H. Ambler, Glen Eden, will give an address from IYA, Auckland, on Tuesday next, on “Washing and Preparing Birds for Exhibition.”
