ARLEN'S “GREEN HAT” WILL BE FILMED
BLANCHE SWEET’S ROLE Marshall Neiian, in association with Al Woods, is to start production in London immediately upon Michael Arlen’s “The Green Hat.’* Blanche Sweet will play Iris March, and an English cast is being chosen to support her. Neiian, with his wife, earlier in the year went to England to make a production for British Films, Ltd. It was during the filming of this picture in a London studio that the pro-ducer-director and Woods closed negotiations. Neiian is to produce and direct a series of Woods’s stage successes. Before “ The Green Kat” was published Neiian met Michael Arlen iu London and read proofs of the story. He was enthusiastic about the possibilities of it and hoped to be able to bring it to the screen. It was banned by the Hays organisation, however, and the probability of it ever being filmed became vague. Scenes are to be photographed in London and in Paris, and the picture w'ill be finished in the late spring.
