PRELIMINARY BOUT

JACK HEENEY’S CHANCES MESSAGE FROM BROTHER Press Association GISBORNE, To-day. Advice has been received from Tom Heeney that there is a good chance of his brother Jack, the former New Zealand middle-weight champion, now in Auckland on his way to America, receiving a preliminary fight to the title bout. Tom Heeney states that it will be necessary for Jack to show himself before a definite decision is arrived at, but in the meantime he is making all the necessary arrangements. Speaking to a Sun representative early this afternoon. Jack Heeney said that he was not particularly anxious to fight a preliminary. If one could be arranged he would fight, but he would not chase one.
