BALLOONISTS IN STORM

ONE MAN KILLED RACERS IN DIRE PERIL (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) NEW YORK, Wednesday. Fourteen balloons left Pittsburg in the national elimination balloon race over south-western Pennsylvania. They ran into severe storms and six were forced down or struck by lightning. One man was killed and one was injured severely. Others of the fliers were injured, frozen or are suffering from shock. One balloon came down near a town among the high tension wires and threw the town into darkness.
