GRAND
“THE GARDEN OF EDEN” Corinne Griffith is the star in “Garden of Eden,” which will be shown tonight at the Grand Theatre. Miss Griffith's part—that of an unknown little cabaret entertainer who through a chain of ingenious circumstances breaks into Monte Carlo society as the “daughter” of a baroness —gives this charming star one of her best opportunities to display her remarkable ability. That she invests the role with a touch of comedy is particularly fitting; and it adds one new string to her histrionic bow. The supnorting cast includes Louise Dresser and Lowell Sherman. John Gilbert in “Twelve Miles Out” is the second feature. A thrilling race between rum-run-ning sloons and revenue cutters on the high seas is one of the most exciting spectacles in the play, and spectacular scenes in New York’s nightclubs form a fantastic and colourful sequence.
