RAETIHI INTERESTS
The half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Raetihi Lodge was held on Tuesday evening. There was a large attendance, N.G. Bro. Bowater presiding. The installation of newly-elected officers will take place at the next meeting on June 12. Three candidates were proposed for membership. The following officers were elected: 1.P.N.G., Bro. H. H. Bowater; N.G., Bro. J. H. Lucas; V.G., -Bro. L. R. Bernard; elec, sec., Bro. B. P. Butler; Warden, Bro. W. Heise; Guardian, Bro. H. Littlewood.
The annual general meeting of the Waimarino- Acclimatisation Society was held on Tuesday evening, at Raetihi, the president, Mr. A. W. Ashwell, presiding. <*,
The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The chairman congratulated the society on the successful season just concluded. He said lie considered the Waimarino district was coming into more prominence among o-utside anglers. Several had been in town this season and had expressed themselves as well satisfied with the streams in the district.
Mr. Short called attention to the that Mr. Henderson had been a member of the society since its inception 25 years ago, and had never missed a meeting. He considered this a record for the Dominion.
The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mr. A. W. Ashwell; vicepresidents, Messrs. T. Short and W. McXie; council. Messrs. J. B. Dinwoodie, L. Fisher, E. L. Salmon, H. J. Angus, J. Jones, J. A. Morton. J. P. Proude, R. F. Wise, W. E. Gundy; treasurer, Mr. A. C. Henderson;, secretary, Mr. A. C. Henderson.
