MET AT PLYMOUTH BY AVIATION CHIEF AN EXTENSIVE TOUR British Official Wireless Reed. Noon. RUGBY, Wednesday. Sir Sefton Brancker, Director of Civil Aviation, will meet Sir Alan Cobham on his arrival to-morrow at Plymouth, on the conclusion of his 2,000-miles survey flight round Africa. Sir Sefton Brancker will fly with them on Friday to Hull, and the next few days will be devoted to a flight round the British Isles. During the African flight, Sir Alan Cobham made a final survey of the air route between Alexandria, Nyanza and Tanganyika. He completed an experimental flight from Khartoum to Mwanza. He attended a conference with the East African Governments at Nairobi, at which support in a practical plan was provided for the proposed air-service. A survey of the new air route from Cape Town to Nigeria was undertaken and investigations were made with the co-operation of the Governments concerned, for utilising aircraft to develop Nigeria, the Gold Coast, Sierra Leone and Gambia.
