TASMANIA WAITS

ELECTION UNCERTAINTY MAY BE A DEADLOCK (Australian Press Association.) Reed. 11.10 a.m. HOBART, To-day. Election returns will be inconclusive for several days, but it is possible for the retiring Labour administration, to be returned with a majority of two. It is equally feasible that the Nationalists will gain a similar majority, and it is not improbable that the rival parties will gain an equal number of seats and the result will be a deadlock. The campaign was quiet, the electors manifesting slight interest. Most of the meetings .were very poorly attended. There are 72 candidates for the 30 seats. The candidates consist of 36 Nationalists, 25 Labour and 11 Independents.
