Mr. Austin Farndley, who for the past 10 years has been in charge of Messrs. Newton King. Ltd.’s land department at Stratford, has been appointed assistant manager to Mr. H. E. Abraham. Stratford. Miss Hawley will act as secretary of the Auckland branch of the Howard Penal Reform League during the absence of Dr. Mildred Staley, who leaves on Tuesday by the Aorangi for Honolulu, en route to Europe. Mr. C. Eskell, of Wellington, general manager Cor Universal Films, left Auckland to-day for Rotorua en route to the East Coast, where he will confer with Mr. Alexander Marky, the American film producer, who is making a Maori film at Ohiwa.
