THIS DAY Wellington, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Hastings and Napier (letters only), 5 p.m. Southern Offices of New Zealand (also Gisborne and Tokomaru Bay), 6.30 p.m. Turua, 5.30 p.m. KING’S BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY, JUNE 4, 1928 Postal Branch Monday, June 4 (King’s Birthday), will be observed as a holiday. On Saturday, June 2, a delivery of all correspondence, including registered, will be made from the Postmens branch, first floor, between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Mails for dispatch by early trains, etc., will close on Monday, at 4 a.m. Mails usually dispatched after 4 a.m. will close at 7.15 a.m., with the exception of those by the Limited and Main Trunk Expresses, which will close at 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. respectively. Late fee letters for Southern offices may be posted in the letter-box at the entrance to the railway station platform, up to 7 p.m. and 7.35 p.m., as usual. There will be no delivery by postmen. The midnight clearance of street letter-boxes will be made as usual. Telegraph Branch Hours of Attendance: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; 7 p.m. to midnight.
