There are four others still on the stocks. The contract for these vessels, amounting to about one million and three-quarters sterling. was awarded to Messrs. WINGATUI IN PORT.— After being delayed for 36 hours the Union Company’s steamer Wingatui arrived in the stream at Auckland at 11 o’clock this morning from South Island ports via Wellington, and berthed shortly before noon at Queen’s Wharf for discharge. The vessel was kept back by a moderate to strong north-easterly gale on Monday, and then after rounding the North Cape yesterday was further delayed by the strong westerly blowing. The vessel at no time had to heave fo, however, and no damage was done on board. The Wingatui has 4,500 tons ot* cargo to bo put out here. The local office of the Union Company is mak - ing efforts to dispatch the vessel to-mor-row evening on her return trip to Southern ports.
