FIRE AT AVONDALE
HOUSE SLIGHTLY DAMAGED Fire damaged one corner of the kitchen of a six-roomed unoccupied house at 2 Oakley Avenue, Avondale, shortly after six o’clock last evening. The City, Avondale and Point Chevalier brigades were called out and extinguished the flames before they were able to get a good hold. The Are was under control within a few minutes. The building is owned by Mr. A. Murray, who lives in a neighbouring house, and is insured for £SOO in the Government Office.
