“TRIUMPH OF RAT” “The Triumph of the Rat,” a thrilling and dramatic story of Parisian society, will be shown at the Lyric Theatre to-morrow night. “The Triumph of the Rat,” a sequel to the now famous picture “The Rat,” is being Dortraved by a distinguished cast, headed by Ivor Novello, the well-known English actor, who is supported by Isabel Jeans and many others. The picture is recommended by the Censor more especially for adult audiences. Pierre meets the Comtesse Madeleine de l’Orme, and immediately falls in love with her. Zelie taunts him, so he wagers that within a month Madeleine will be in his arms. The Rat wins his wager and Zelie determines to use her influence to drive the Rat back to /he gutter.
On the same programme will also be shown “Lightning Romance,’' a thrilling story featuring Reed Howes and Ethel Shannon. Reed Howes plays the part of Jack Wade, who loved adventure and excitement. He found the clock-like efficiency of his father’s home unbearable. So he went to the wilds of Arizona, and threw in his lot with a gang of bad men. Then all at once he was persuaded to return home to a life of luxury and ease—by whom? A beautiful girl, of course!
