To-day 's Turf

WINGATUI NOTES PROMISING NOVICE HURDLER Press Association DUNEDIN, To-day. It was an off morning at Wingatui, but a large number of horses, including last night’s arrivals from Christchurch and Southland, were given halfpace work. A feature was the schooling of Craigmore, Coastguard and Armchair, who set off over four hurdles. Craigmore was too fast on the flat and over the sticks, and gave a splendid exhibition for a novice. Apple Dighton schooled over hurdles successfully.

Barton, S.M., plaintively, “does every board set up these days require a magistrate as chairman? Pity the poor overworked magistrate.”
