“TWELVE MILES OUT” A thrilling drama of love and the law, “Twelve Miles Out,” starring John Gilbert and Joan Crawford, is now being shown at the Lyric Theatre. The new pictLire is a vivid adventure story of the night clubs and the high seas, adapted from the New York stage success of the same name and produced with a notable cast. Joan Crawford plays the principal feminine role, and Ernest Torrence, Bert Roach, Tom O’Brien, Eileen Percy, Paulette Duval, Dorothy Sebastian, Gwen Lee and others of note are in the cast. A thrilling sea chase between revenue cutters and a rum-running sloop, a spectacular night club episode, Gilbert in a thrilling motor-cycle ride and other thrilling details mark the new production, which is one of the most sensational exposes of the rumrunners’ trade ever filmed. “One Round Hogan,” starring Monte Blue, will also be shown. This is an up-to-the-minute fight story of the son of an ex-champion boxer, who never fails to knock out'his opponent in the first round.
