BY AMBULANCE TO THAMES

WOMAN’S LONG JOURNEY One of the St. John Ambulance cars made a trip to Thames and back yesterday carrying home a woman patient from the Auckland Hospital. The car left the hospital at 10.30 a.m. and reached Thames at 1.30 p.m.. arriving back in Auckland at five o’clock. The distance of 140 miles was covered in about six hours actual running time. This is somewhat less than would have been possible a few weeks ago before the opening of the new bridge at Kopu. The journey was made in comfort in spite of the unsuitable weather conditions and the patient suffered no ill effects.
