TOUCH WOOD AND WHISTLE
If you are having a country holiday, here is a splendid game ior you to play, especially where the ground is wooded, and there are plenty of trees about. One player is the Hunter, the others are the Foxes. Now, while the Hunter hides his eyes the Foxes run away and hide. Meanwhile, the Hunter counts 50, and then he is off after the Foxes. As soon as he finds , one he chases him. and the Fox must run. But as soon as a Fox touches wood and whistles the Hunter can’t touch him. However, as soon as he lets go of the wood or stops whistling, then the Hunter can catch him. It sounds very easy, but you’ll find it hard to keep on whistling, even if there is a lot of wood about to be touched. As soon as a Fox is caught he takes the place of the Hunter.
