• SWEPT BY DAM The recent darn disaster outside of Los Angeles swept over a famous old location ground. It w r as near Oxnard that Rudolph Valentino made the desert scenes for “The Sheik,” under the direction of George Melford, with Agnes Ayres. Many other directors since i - time have used the picturesque hill and desert country for film shots, the last being for “A Man’s Past,” with Conrad Veidt for Universal, when George Melford again was the director.
