CAREFUL SELECTION

ART COMMITTEES TASK EXHIBITION TO OPEN ON MONDAY As only 150 pictures have been accepted out of a total of over 500 submitted, this year’s annual exhibition of the Auckland Society of Arts is likely to attract more than usual attention. T he selection committee has had by no means an easy task, but it was actuated by a desir3 to raise the standard o£ . th . e . Auckland show. This year’s exhibition is likely to be a great improvement on the 1927 exhibition. The opening ceremony will be perfoi med before the members’ “private view” on Monday evening, by the Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson. The society’s president, Mr. A. S. Boyd, will welcome the ViceRegal party. The exhibition will be held at the Dilworth Buildings in Customs Street.
