LAND AGENTS’ EXAM.

MEMBER’S QUALIFICATION CONSIDERED BY INSTITUTE “Should anyone without the examination of the New Zealand Institute be allowed to practise as a land agent?” was a question referred to at last evening’s meeting of the Real Estate Institute of Auckland. In his report, the past president. Mr. S. J. Crump, said that the institute had grown considerably, and was now an independent bocly. The question now was whether they should admit anyone to membership who had not passed the examination of the Ntew Zealand Institute. The Wellington Institute had taken the bull by the horns, and no one could now be admitted to membership without the examination. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the committee that the question should be brought up at the next annual meeting. It was decided to recommend the New Zealand Institute to consider the question of unregistered land salesmen, with a view to legislative action. Tho following officers were elected: —President, Mr. W. J. Potter; vicepresidents, Messrs. H. L. C. Mowbray and T. Mclndoe; representative on the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. P. J. Crump; committee, Messrs. P. Balgarnie, S. E. Bennett, H. K. Clayton, H. G. C. Ernest, A. W. Clark, J. Grey, H. Hadfield. A. F. Frater, J. IL Jackson, and G. F. Mellars; secretary, Mr. W. J. A. Thomson. A dinneir followed the meeting.
