The Geneva correspondent of “The Times” says tljat the International Bird-preservation Conference has successfully concluded. It protested against the killing of birds solely for their millinery value, and resolved on recommending a complete cessation of bird-hunting during the mating and rearing periods, the use of repeating shot-guns, and the shooting of wild-fowl from motorboats. It strongly disapproved of commerce in wild birds’ egg-shells, and recommended the International Convention to compel a cessation of all shooting, trapping, and other destruction, for sale or exposure tor sale, in countries of the Southern Hemisphere, from August 1 until the autumn shooting season.
