AIRMEN TO MAKE EARLY HOP-OFF FOR AUSTRALIA
KINGSFORD-SMITH'S PLANS FLIGHT FROM SAN FRANCISCO (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association.) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LOS ANGELES, Thurs. It is now learned that Captain Kingsford Smith hopes to commence his flight to Australia on June 1. He plans to leave for the Mills Field tomorrow, accompanied by Lieutenant C. T. Ulm. There the instruments will be adjusted and final preparations made. Captain Smith declared that the crew will be composed of himself and Lieutenant Ulm as pilots, Captain Harry Lyon, of Maine, as navigator, and Mr. James Warner, of Kansas City, as radio operator. Upon arrival at Honolulu the airmen will spend a day or two resting, and will then proceed to the Fiji Islamic, w .it.-, c captain Lyon and Mr. Warner will leave the plane, Captain Smith and Lieutenant Ulm continuing alone to Brisbane, according to present plans.
