CROSS-COUNTRY RACE
EVENTS FOR MANGERE HANDICAPS DECLARED Four events, including a three miles’, steeplechase, are to be conducted by the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club at Mr. T. Scown’s farm, Mangere Crossing, to-morrow afternoon.. The first race, the 75yds. handicap, will start about 2.30 p.m., and in order to be in time competitors should catch the train'leaving Auckland at 1.9 p.m. Mr. T. Scown has very kindly mapped out a suitable cross-country course, and the going will be something in keeping with the conditions likely to prevail in the race for the Dominion championship on July 21.
