FRISCO JACK TO STAY AT HOME Frisco Jack was scratched at 5.15 p.m. yesterday for all engagements at the Auckland winter meeting. Frisco Jack displayed great promise last season of developing into a crack ’chaser, but his poor showing in the Wanganui Steeplechase hist week suggested that all was not well with him. He was engaged In the Great Northern Steeplechase and ter Steeplechase. Frisco Jack is in good hands, and it would occasion no surprise should he bob up prominently toward the end of the jumping season. RACING FIXTURES May 26—Amberley R.C. June 2, 4—Otaki-Maoii R.C. Lomint’s Form It is generally recognised that with 8.4. 31b. above the impost she carried so successfully in the same event last year, Lomint has an excellent chance in the Cornwall Handicap. She is among the fancied ones, to, but if the manner in which she accomplished a gallop in company with Sir Archie yesterday morning is any criterion, she will not be quite as forward as she Was at the same period last year. Against this, however, is the fact that the gallop will be real beneficial to Lomint, and a great improvement should be wrought in the daughter of Catmint by to-morrow week.
