SOCIAL AFTERNOON At a social function on the Thames Croquet Club’s green, the trophies w or during the season were presented, anc a pleasant afternoon was spent. jlr. Palmer’s trophy (eight-das bronze, swinging clock) for the A section champion, was won by Mrs. T Newman. Mrs. Palmer’s trophy (silver fruit-boat) for handicap singles was also secured by Mrs. E. Newman Mrs. Adamson’s three-tier silver cakestand for the B section champion weni to Mrs. Pratt. Miss Gibson won Mrs Pearson’s trophy (half a dozen stainjess knizes) for non-prize winners. A presentation of a Doulton sandwich dish was made to Mrs. Robertihawe, who is shortly leaving the district. The services of the secretary Miss Gibson, were highly commented on and as a mark of appreciation sh< was presented with two dainty toiler accessories.
