Defendant explained that he had been engaged in dentistry for 28 years in England before coming to New Zealand. He was now farming at Awhity and had done certain dental work there, chiefly to oblige residents of the district, who would otherwise have a long way to go to a dentist. The total amount of money he had earned in this way this year was only £l2 10s, and it had been for repairing or making dentures.
