£2O FOR A LABEL

A FOOD INSPECTOR went recently to the Masonic Hotel, Devonport, wanting brandy for analysis. In Hennessy’s Three Star bottle there was liquor other than the Hennessy brand. At the Police Court to-day the licensee of the hotel was fined £2O for having a bottle improperly labelled. Thomas Hannajin, licensee of the Brunswick Hotel at Wellington, was also fined £2O to-day for bottling whisky in a bottle from which the original label had not been removed. —P.A.
