LUM’S TENNIS GAME

LEADING CHINESE PLAYER LEARNED IN AUSTRALIA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian Press Association) NEW YORK, Tuesday. The Kansas City correspondent of the “New York Times” says the principal player in the Chinese Davis Cup team, Lum, has spent all his life in Australia, and had the opportunity to develop his game against some of the best players. No one is more responsible for the high standard that Lum has attained than G-. L. Patterson. Lum has Patterson’s form and manner of stroke production. He delivers his service with the same body motion and his forehand and backhand strokes are like Patterson’s, although Lum has better control over the latter shot, including a backhand slice. It is believed he will give a good game to his American opponents, who are likely to be Tilden and Hennessy.
