AUCKLAND UNION TREASURER RESIGNS At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland R-ugby Union, presided over by Mr. H. Frost last evening, correspondence was read from the Auckland Football Association referring to defaulting players, in one code of football transferring to another code. Th© chairman and Mr. A. Tilly were appointed as a subcommittee to meet members of the association and confer on the question. In accepting the resignation of the union’s treasurer, Mr. J. O’Brien, who is leaving Auckland, members expressed great appreciation of the work he/had done for Rugby generally, and in his position as treasurer partij cularly. Mr. A. J. Billington was appointed treasurer. In response to an invitation from j the Auckland Agricultural and Pas- ! toral Ajjsociation, Messrs. Maben, | Kronfeld, Tilly, Belcher and the union’s solicitor were appointed to meet mem- | bers of th© association on Friday to discuss questions dealing with the Show Grounds lease and general conditions. South Auckland will be invited to play a match in Auckland on July 21 as curtain-raiser to the AucklandThames game. It was regretted that, owing to previous arrangements it would be impossible to arrange a match with Manawhenua as requested by that union. Permission was granted the Methodist Bible Class Union to make use of the Show Grounds on June 4 to conduct a seven-a-side tournament. The New Zealand Union advised that the following reinstatements had been granted: J. McPhail, T. Courtney, W. McGonagle, T. J. Molloy, J. Ross, J. W. Shirley, M. N. Moore, D. D. Mansfield, H. C. Brown, F. C.. King. YV. Harlick. It was decided favourably to recommend the reinstatement of B. A. White, who had played on© .League game only.
