The story concerns Johnnie McKinney, a fast raising young prize fighter with unlimited faith in his manager, Jimmie. Johnnie's one ambition in life is to win the middle-weight chan, pionship of the world, an ambition shared by his mother and his mar ager. When Jimmie goes 10 Chicago to try and arrange a title fight, Johnnie meets Betty behind a glove counter in a department store and falls in k>vt with her. Jimmie returns to find prize-fighter the idol of Betty and her father and young brother, and from then on his boxing career is marred b’* the influence of these people.
