TROOPS PLEASE ICING
INSPECTION AT - ALDERSHOT ENTHUSIASM AND SKILL British Official Wireless RUGBY, Tuesday. Lieutenant-General Sir David Campbell, general officer commanding in chief at Aldershot, has received a message from the King, regarding the tour of inspection which his Majesty made of the Aldershot command last week. The King says he was gratified to see the various developments which had taken place, affecting both the training and welfare of the troops. His inspection of the army vocational training centre had greatly interested him, and the facilities which it offered must be most helpful to soldiers who are shortly returning to civilian life. The past few years had seen a great advance in the science of warfare, and he had been able to realise the everincreasing demands on the intelligence of the soldiers of to-day. He was impressed by the enthusiasm and skill displayed by all ranks in mastering the complicated machinery of modern weapons. During his visit he had been struck by the smart appearance and soldierly bearing of the troops.
