HONOUR TO CHAIRMAN MATAMATA’S TRIBUTE (From Our Own Correspondent) PUTARURU, To-day. At the annual meeting of the Matamata County Council hold at Tirau on Wednesday, Cr. J. W. Anderson (Tirau riding) was re-elected chairman for h:s sixteenth term of office. Cr. Anderson succeeded the late Cr. Keeling as chairmain in 1913, and has occupied die chair ever since. As a mark of their esteem the council decided to hang a framed portrait of Cr. Anderson on the walls of the council chamber. Cr. Dee remarking that he believed in paying such tributes while a member was alive, and noc waiting, as generally was the esse, until he died.
