FARMER’S CLOSE CALL

CAUGHT JN_ MACHINE CLOTHES STRIPPED OFF MATAMATA, To-day. (From. Our Own Correspondent) Mr. J. Beeby, of Hinuera, recently had a narrow escape from death, when his clothes became entangled in the shaft of a milking-machine. With great presence of mind Mr. Beeby gripped some piping, thus saving himself from being drawn into the machinery. He was practically stripped of his clothing, being badly bruised and receiving severe injuries to his ribs. He is now on the road to recovery.
