HOSPITAL WEEK
FUNDS FOR AUXILIARY The Auckland Hospital Auxiliary has inaugurated a “Hospital Week.” This scheme has been most successful in other countries but has never before been attempted in New Zealand. Hospital YY r eek will begin on Sunday, May 27, and end on the following Friday, June 1, when a street collection will be taken. During the past year the Auxiliary has been doing good work among the sick and needy at the hospital, and public support is needed if this is to be carried on. Talks on the aims of the body will be given at the city churches on the opening day, and Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, will broadcast an address on the same subject. On Thursday, May 31, the Girl Guides will visit the wards for women and children. In the evening there will be a bridge party and dance in aid of the funds of the Auxiliary in the Click Clack Cabaret. Messrs. Fuller-Haywaj’d and T. O’Brien have generously offered to donate the proceeds of a total number of 3,700 tickets to be sold at their theatres during the week.
