£I,OOO LOST IN SEASON NEED FOR POLICE PATROL Loss estimated at £I,OOO was suffered this season by pleasure-boat owners, as a result of the depredations of harbour thieves, according to Mr. A. J. Collings, secretary to the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association. The necessity for a police patrol of the harbour was urged at a meeting of the association last evening. Mr. H. George said that in view of the recent serious robberies the Minister of Justice should be approached in on endeavour to secure police protection of yachts and launches. Hardly a week pa.ssed without some theft being committed. It was decided to write to the Minister, emphasising the necessity for a oolice patrol.
