LYRIC
NEW PROGRAMME TO-MORROW “Twelve Miles Out,’* starring John Gilbert, will be shown to-morrow night at the Lyric Theatre. ••Twelve Miles Out” is a tale of adventure on the high seas, based on the latest factor in American life —the war between the rum-runner and the revenue service. The thrilling race at sea, when the revenue men pursue a rum-runner’s sloop in a desperate race; the vicious battle staged by Gilbert and Ernest Torrence on the smuggling boat; these are some of the high lights on the excitement side of the ledger. Joan Crawford makes a charming heroine in a splendidly balanced piece of acting, and Torrence, as the villain, a strange mixture of sinister traits and whimsical humour, has a role that he rejoices in. • One-Round Hogan,” which will also be shown to-morrow, is a story of lighting men and fighting love, with Monte Blue in the title role. . __
