ADELE CRANE RETURNS
THE PRINCESS MARGARET ROLE IN “STUDENT PRINCE” When Miss Adele Crane, the Princess Margaret of “The Student Prince,” was last in New* Zealand, she was the demure lead in “Lilac Time,” the musical version of the life of Franz Schubert. Since then Miss Crane has had a variety of experiences, but she declares that her role in “The Student Prince” is one of the most delightful she has ever had. The popular Australian artist arrived in Auckland with the members of the company yesterday by the Marama from Sydney. In “Madame Pompadour” she plays the part of the sister, and, incidentally, understudies Miss Beppie de Vries. Since she was last in New Zealand Miss Crane has toured Australia in “Katcha,” “Kissing Time,” and “The Cousin From Nowhere.” She played the lead with the number two company on tour, and as she says, ‘did some pioneering work.’” “It was all excellent experience, however, and as every part was different, I enjoyed every minute of it.”
