- DETERMINED WOMAN SPEAKS OUT FLOOD OF TALK IN COURT **l must speak for myself sometimes.” said Elizabeth Carswell, aged 48. at the Police Court today. She did. Carswell was charged with drunkenness, three breaches of her prohibition order, and being idle and disorderly. The police evidence was that accused had been frequenting hotels too often, and associating with undesirables. She was found in a shed early this morning. In spite of many warnings. Elizabeth insisted on making her explanation a major key accompaniment of the police I evidence. "I suppose we’ll have to let her go i on.” said the magistrate resignedly. The accused’s explanation was that. ; being drunk, she induced the men to take her to the shed to avoid the police, i "Don't be too hard on me.” she added. “This is your f.Oth conviction.” said the magistrate. Mr. F. K. Hunt. “Three months.” MEN CHARGED Edgar Pascoe, aged 23. and Francis CJibson, aged 26. the men found in the shed, each pleaded guilty to charges of being idle and disorderly. They were convicted and ordered to come up for sentence any time within
