EPPING TROTTING

AUCKLANDER’S SUCCESS METAL WINS EASILY That Metal's form prior to leaving for Sydney recently was in order was demonstrated at Epping on Monday last when the Auckland-owned trained pacer scored an easy victory. Mrs.. J. Johnson, of Manukau Road, Epsom, wife of the sporting owner of the Australian-bred horse, received word from Sydney yesterday that Metal won the 12-furlong heat in which he was

engaged, scoring comfortably in 3.33. Auckland enthusiasts will be pleased at the success attained by Mr. Johnson, who, owing to the refusal of the New Zealand authorities to register the son of Don Pronto—Annie Bells, was compelled t,o take the horse to Sydney for registration and racing purposes. J. Johnson certainly deserved the success recorded, and as the Don Pronto horse is billed to appear at Victoria Park, Sydney, next Monday, another victory may be registered before he returns home.
