ODDFELLOWS’ BALL
The Oddfellow's’ annual ball was held in the Druids’ Hall at Raetihi on Friday evening. There was an attendance of over 200 present, Auckland. Taihape, Marton and Ohakune lodges being represented. The hall was brightly decorated with greenery, streamers and Chinese lanterns, and an attractive sight made up of different coloured electric lights formed the letters M.U.1.0.0.F., which was placed across the width of the stage. Among the visitors present were Bro. D. L. Goldwater, P.G.M., of Auckland, and Bro. E. Buckley, P.G.M., of New Plymouth. The grand march was led by Sister Clarke and Bro. D. L. Goldwater. The music by Woodlock’s Orchestra was much appreciated. Bros. A. Rose and T. Langdon ably fulfilled the duties of M.C.’s. The supper room was attractively decorated with greenery and chrysanthemums, and the tables showed a beautiful display of autumn flowers and ferns. The arrangements were in the capable hands of Sister Clarke, assisted by Sisters Green, Head, Heine, McDonald, Dali, Buckley, Larkin and Mrs. Mosen, who were also responsible for the decorations of the supper room. Th 9 decorations in the hall were carried out by Bros. C. Langdon, T. Langdon, H. Bowater, H. Green and G. G. Burgess. The competition dance-winners were: Spot waltz, Miss Meyers and Mr. .Taques; Monte Carlo dance, Miss L. Littlewood and Bro. Perry. The lucky supper tickets were obtained by Sister Petersen and Mr. R. Smith. Extras were played by Mr. C. Plank. Miss Haddock, Sister Heine and Mr. E. Neary, junr. Among those present were: Miss Sandford, rose velvet frock. Miss Lowler, flame georgette. Miss P. Larkin, lavender silk and lace. Ali-s. Laing, old gold and lace. Airs. Andersen, Pipiriki, black georgette frock. Airs. Bowater, ivory crepe de chine. Airs. Irwin, black and silver frock. Aliss C. Henderson, alice blue taffeta. Miss N. Anderson, flame silk crepe. Sister Presnell, P.G.M., bois du rose silk. Sister Bemten, mauve crepe de chine. Aliss Legge, old rose georgette and lace. Sister Head, coral pink morocain. Sister Helly, emerald crepe de chine. Mrs. Langdon, black velvet and gold lace. Airs. G. McDonnell, black and gold frock. Aliss E. Christie, apricot satin. Aliss Myers, floral georgette. Aliss Dale, apricot silk. Airs. C. A. C. McDonald, navy crepe de chine. Aliss Ward, cactus blue georgette. Aliss Joyce Irwin, ivory satin and lace. Airs. E. AI. Wills, rose silk. Mrs. F. Coney, ivory georgette and fox fur. Aliss E. Barrow, blue velvet. Aliss Lois Wylds, rose pink georgette. Aliss Shirley Wylds, reseda silk and lace.
