VARSITY ENGINEERING

MARINE TEST DISPUTE AGREEMENT BROKEN The Auckland University College Council decided yesterday to approach ihe Marine Department in reference to the department’s withdrawal of recognition of the college course for thirdclass engineers’ certificates. Under an arrangement made in 1907, the Marine Department agreed to accept the college engineering course in place of the Government examination. The department has now announced that it will no longer recognise the university tests. Professor S. E. Lamb and the Hon. George Fowlds were appointed to negotiate with the Marine Department.
