Higgs (Britain) beat Grotenfelt, 6—2, 6—l, 2—6, 6—o. At Berlin Germany defeated Spaiv Germann will meet Britain. At Amsterdam Kehrling (Hungary) defeated Diemerkool (Holland), 7 —5, 4 —6, 2 —6, 6—l; Diemerkool retired. In the doubles Timmer and Koopman (Holland) defeated Kehrling and Peteri, I—6,1 —6, 6 —4, 6 —2, 7 —5. At Stockholm Czecho-Slovakia defeated Sweden. Kozeluh and Macenauer defeated Malmstrom and Winnergsen (Sweden), (> —0, 6 —2, 6—4; Menzel (Czecho-Slovakia) defeated Garell, 6—2, 6—o, 5—7, B—s. Malmstrom defeated Macenauer, 10—8, I—G,1 —G, 7 B—6. YOUNGEST PLAYER AMERICAN BOY OF 16 (Australian Press Association) NEW YORK, Saturday. The youngest player ever to be chosen for a Davis Cup team is Wilbur Coen, aged 16, of Kansas City, who to-day with Hennessy, Lott and Tilden, was selected as a member of the American team which will meet China at Kansas City on May 25. They will go to Europe on June 9 if they win, to meet the winner in the European zone. Hunter, who is now in Europe, will also be a member of the team.
