PEEVED WOMAN IN DOCK NICKNAME DISOWNED “Don't you tell such bad stories about me, constable,” said Alice Kennedy, aged 43, when she appeared at the Police Court to-day charged with drunkenness and being idle and disorderly. Constable Needham said he had known accused for three years. She had done no work, and was found on Saturday in an empty house with three m€:n. “What’s your name?” asked SubInspector McCarthy when accused was giving evidence. “Mrs. Agnes Kennedy,” was the reply. The Sub-Inspector: Aren’t you known as “Canadian Kate?” “Not at all,” was the reply. “Canadian Kate” or no, she got three months* imprisonment.
