CHURCH HALL DEDICATED
FUNCTION AT MANGERE A new Methodist Church hall, erected by voluntary labour, was opened yesterday afternoon at Mangere. Situated op a rise in Walmsley Road, near the Black Bridge, the building occupies a commanding position. The hall was opened by the Rev. W. J. Elliott, president of the Methodist Conference, who conducted a special service at which large numbers attended. In an address the minister referred to the need for more churches and paid a tribute to the volunteer workers. In the evening the service was conducted by th© Rev. F. E. Leadley, minister in charge of the Oneliunga Methodist circuit. A gratifying response has been made to an appeal for gifts. An organ and a portion of the seating has been given. A prominent churchman has offered to subsidise cash donations on a £ for £ basis up to £ 50.
