USE OF BORIC ACID

TO KEEP OFF THE FLIES BACON COY. CONVICTED Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, To-day. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day, the Kiwi Bacon Co. was charged with having sold bacon containing boric acid, and was ordered to pay costs. Counsel for defendants said that boric acid was only used for the purpose of dusting to keep off the flies, and some apparently worked its way into the bacon. Counsel for the Health Department did not ask for a fine, saying the department was going into the question of altering the regulations.
